Using Mono with X-Code/OS X: Tutorial
Susan Mackay's tutorial on how to configure MacOS X's X-Code to develop applications with Mono has been uploaded here.
Updated Mono VMware Image
We have updated the Mono VMware image. It is available from our downloads page.
New in this release:
- All packages from a default OpenSUSE install are included. This results in a bigger image download but should be more convenient.
- Postgres has been installed
- Bigger default font size
- A share was up in /srv/www/htdocs so that Windows developers can easily access it.
- Mono can now be updated without updating the VMware machine, so you will be able to pick up new versions without downloading this image again.
- We included phpMyAdmin, a MySQL administration front-end, you can access it here.
- .exe files associated with mono in the nautilus file manager to allow launching them via double click
- The README in the image (http://localhost) now includes all accounts for local users, MySQL accounts.
Mono's ASP.NET Vulnerability
A vulnerability, which allows an attacker to retrieve unprocessed web content (e.g. source code), has been found in XSP.
People already using the latest supported version of Mono, 1.2.2 and 1.1.13.8.2, are protected against this vulnerability. Other people are encouraged to update to the latest supported version of Mono. Major distributions have already been advised and updates should (now or shortly) be available for their supported versions.

Mono 1.2.2 and Mono Migration Assistant 1.1
Mono 1.2.2 is out. See the release notes. This release fixes various important bug fixes as well as implementing many of the APIs that we identified using Moma as being important to our user community.
All users are encouraged to upgrade to this release.
In addition to the Mono release, the Mono Migration Assistant has been released.
This new release of Moma has been updated to the latest API and it contains new features that would allow developers to optionally submit feedback to us and also has a mechanism to update the API definitions from future Mono releases.
If you tried your software with Moma 1.0.1, please try Moma 1.1 again.
